Idina Talks
Idina talks and we walk on searching
for jeans or shoes or stuff or something
she tells me about her day we stop for coffee
the afternoon slips by
the light runs his fingers through her hair
casts the milky way in the falling air
he fans his precious fires
in her eyes
she says
i guess you're right
but i don’t quite care
this wasn't supposed to be a tragedy
we've already made plans to be happy
when i say that things won't get too bad
but if you can’t lay down all the things that were said
then we can only stand and watch
our world fall apart
the wind sighs softly through her hair
waves goodbye across a sea of grass
he breathes his secrets deep
inside her heart
she says
i guess you're right
but i don’t quite care
this wasn't supposed to be a tragedy
we've already made plans to be happy
coffee gets cold
dreams take their toll
as your life unfolds
the lies get old
she says
i guess you're right
but i don’t quite care
this wasn't supposed to be a tragedy
we've already made plans to be happy
